National Tulip Day
National Tulip Day is the official kickoff of tulip season in Amsterdam. Each year, a pop up tulip picking garden is created in the city, where visitors can pick a free bouquet and take bright, spring like photos even in January.
For 2026, it’s scheduled for Saturday 17 January at Museumplein, with the picking garden opening around 13:00 and running for a few hours. Arrive early if you can, it gets busy fast.

Flower Parade
The Flower Parade 2026 (Bloemencorso Bollenstreek) is set for Saturday 18 April 2026, travelling the iconic 42 km route from Noordwijk to Haarlem. A favourite way to experience it is to combine it with Keukenhof, because the parade passes the Keukenhof Boulevard near the main entrance, so you can catch the floats up close during your visit.
If you have never seen it, picture this: thousands of blooms, handcrafted into moving sculptures, cheered on by locals and visitors, right through the heart of the bulb region at peak season. So...Put 18 April 2026 in your calendar.
